Hiring opens up completely once location stops being a filter. The best designer for a project might be three time zones away, and that's fine. Collaboration takes more intention without hallway conversations to fall back on, so we've had to build real habits around async updates, documented decisions, and deliberate check-ins instead of assuming things will just come up naturally.
The result, a few years in, is a team that's more focused during work hours and genuinely happier outside of them, which shows up in client work more than any perk ever did.
